Sam spent the first decade of her career as Data Analyst with a passion for coding. This passion led to several strange experiences including a slot at a London comedy club and being recognised in public as "the calculator lady from that video". She then decided to make this passion into a career and has been teach software development for the past 7 years. Currently she's a freelancer spending time teaching, looking after tiny humans as a stay at home mum and taking a very scientific approach to the pursuit of happiness.
The talk title seems flawed - not only is it a query from a terribly designed database, but it also just sounds too easy to just choose happiness. If it's too easy it's probably not true. Happiness is just a consequence of your circumstance and not a choice you can make or a thing you can impact, right?
That's certainly how a lot of people feel but if you spend time studying the theory of happiness and some of the scientific research behind it, it becomes a far more attainable goal. We've spent several months implementing some of the lessons learnt so you don't have to.
Join us in this talk where we will give you some quick tips and tricks to make your life just a little bit happier. This will not be an airy fairy talk full of warm hugs and affirmations. It is a practical guide for those that aren't a fan of the warm and fuzzies.
